My name is Mervyn Goldring and I am a Road Safety Officer for the Isle of Wight Fire & Rescue Service. I qualified as a driving instructor in 1992 and as a Driving Examiner for the Driving Standards Agency in 1996 taking many people for their driving tests.

In my role as a Road Safety Officer I undertake driver training courses for many organisations around the Island not just for the Isle of Wight Council. I have been teaching driver training at all levels and different ages ever since I qualified as a Driving Instructor including, driver assessments, driver training, Advanced Driver Training and Advanced Motorcycle Training.

I enjoy meeting people and making them feel relaxed to create a good learning atmosphere where needed and especially to help them keep driving for longer.

I hold many different certificates for advanced driver and rider training including a Diploma in Accident & Safety Management.
